REGISTRATION CLOSED! Join us for a 3-Day backpacking trip to Emigrant Wilderness in Stanislaus National Forest. This is a gorgeous wilderness area filled with granite ridges, lakes and meadows that’s bordered by Yosemite and Toiyabe National Forest. TIMING & TRANSPORTATION: Meet at the Gianelli Trailhead at 11am on Friday July 26th. We suggest carpooling and are happy to help coordinate. Our trip will end at our starting point by 1pm on Sun. July 28th. LEVEL: Intermediate backpackers who are able to hike 6 miles with a 25-lb pack. A training plan will be shared to help you prepare! TRIP SIZE: 6-10 women HIKES: From the trailhead at 8500ft, we’ll have a 5 mile hike to the campsite with 1000ft elevation gain/loss. Our day hike is 2 miles each way, with 300ft elevation gain. MEALS: We will provide the meals, snacks, appetizers, coffee & tea as well as gear to heat & filter water. We will give a demo on how to use a stove & directions for the food prep. GEAR: You’ll be responsible for providing your own 45-65L backpack and sleeping bag. We can suggest where to rent or purchase. Other camping gear such as tents, sleeping mats, headlamps and chairs can be provided; what’s not we’ll suggest in a packing list. AMENITIES: None! We’ll be filtering water and “doing our business” in the woods. If you haven’t done this before, no worries, we’ll provide all the information and supplies you’ll need and teach Leave No Trace Principles along the way. ITINERARY: Day 1 After meeting at the trailhead, we’ll distribute snacks/gear, do a pack check, & begin our hike. Once in camp, we’ll set up tents, enjoy appetizers, do food prep demos, & enjoy hot beverages. Day 2 After breakfast and hot beverages, we’ll day hike to a nearby lake. We’ll have a snack break and enjoy the area. Back in camp, we’ll relax and unwind, take a swim, and enjoy our campsite; followed by appetizers, meal prep, hot beverages and a campfire (weather permitting). Day 3 After breakfast and hot beverages, we’ll pack up camp, and hike back to the trailhead. We’ll collect our gear and say our goodbye's! Led by She Hikes Too founders - Wilderness First Responders and Leave No Trace educators who are committed to your fun & safety in the outdoors. $495 per person
