Join us for a 3-day backpacking trek to Point Reyes National Seashore! We’ll have spectacular views of the shoreline and ocean side lakes, set up camp in an open meadow overlooking the Pacific. A key highlight of this trip is a beach walk to Alamere Falls, one California's two tidefall waterfalls. This trip is ideal for anyone who wants to experience backpacking without the hassle of logistics and permits. We handle all the behind-the-scenes details, so you can simply show up and enjoy the adventure! TIMING & TRANSPORTATION: Meet at the Palomarin Trailhead at 1pm on Friday, 5/30. We suggest carpooling and are happy to help coordinate. We’ll end at the Palomarin Trailhead by noon Sunday, 6/1. HIKING LEVEL: Beginner to intermediate backpackers able to hike ~5 miles each day carrying a 25 pound pack. We'll share a training plan to help you prepare! TRIP SIZE: 4-10 women HIKES: The hike to our campsite is 5.5 miles with ~1000 elevation gain. The trails in the area are well-kept, will be loaded with wildflowers, and wind through diverse landscapes and offering beautiful views and lookout spots. Our day hike to Alamere Falls is 2 miles. MEALS: We will provide the meals, snacks, appetizers, coffee, tea and all cooking gear. Your guides are foodies! We lean towards organic and plant based options. Have a dietary restriction? No problem. GEAR: We provide all the group backpacking gear and most of the personal gear such as a tent (2-person that you can use solo), mat, headlamp, and chair—all you need to bring is a 45-65L backpack and a sleeping bag. We can recommend where to rent or purchase. See our “Gear” page for more info on our gear! AMENITIES: Pit toilets, potable water, trash bins, and picnic tables! ITINERARY: Day 1 - Meet at the trailhead, distribute snacks/gear, pack checks, and hike! In camp: evening stretch, appetizers/meal, and campfire on the beach. (weather permitting). Day 2 – Morning stretch, breakfast, walk to Alamere Falls, forest bathe, repeat evening activities. Day 3 – Morning stretch, breakfast, pack up and hike to our cars - you did it!
